Lukashenko accuses the US of pushing Europe into a military confrontation with Russia

The President of Belarus, Alexsander Lukashenko, accused the United States this Saturday of having pushed Europe into a military confrontation with Russia on Ukrainian territory, while maintaining that the North American country is present “in all conflicts in the world” .

“The United States is pushing Europe into a military confrontation with Russia on the territory of Ukraine. They do not hide their plans: the contracts were signed years in advance (…) The goal is to weaken Russia and destroy Belarus,” he said. Lukashenko at an event commemorating Belarus’s National Unity Day, according to the ‘Zviazda’ newspaper.

The Belarusian head of state has assured that the United States will be “the only country that will benefit” from the war in Ukraine, since its objective is to take over Europe to “remove competitors”.

“Today it is Ukraine, tomorrow it will be Moldova or the Baltic states, Poland or Romania. The countries are fueling the war in Kosovo, trying to put pressure on Serbia, throwing coal into the latent contradictions in Nagorno-Karabakh, muddying the waters in Syria,” has reported.

Lukashenko has also accused Washington of being present in “all significant political conflicts”, while ignoring
its “internal contradictions on the verge of civil confrontation”.

“I am presenting the facts. The world has lost its mind and is about to explode. How will it all end? Ordinary people, far from politics, are thinking more and more about how it will end. For the first time since the end of the War Cold, humanity is on the brink of a nuclear conflict,” added the president of Belarus.

Still, Lukashenko has urged the Belarusian people to show “national maturity” to respond to the geopolitical challenges of the 21st century “as a united front.”

“100 years ago, at the beginning of the 20th century, the young Belarusian republic did not have the strength to defend itself. Today we will not only protect the protection of our old national borders, we will maintain them!” he added.
