Intel replaces Pentium and Celeron brands with Intel Processor

Although it is a day that was eventually going to come, It’s about a change that feels strange, and is that Intel has finally abandoned the Pentium and Celeron lines for its low ranges, unifying them in what will now be called Intel Processor. This new name will unify these two low ranges, which being realistic, they took enough yield from each other to be apart.

This change, as we read in The Verge, will make it easier to find, compare and buy cheap laptops, but for now it is unknown how the company plans to educate customers about the differences between processors within these ranges.

If we look at the following performance ladders, we see how the Core i3, i5, i7 and i9 are perfectly divided by performance / coressomething that from now on we will not see with the new Intel Processors, which will mix interesting low-end models with models that Usually they are not worth it.

Hopefully with the launch of the 13th generation of Intel processors, we can have more references to this, especially when the full range is finally released, where we can understand more clearly the reason for this change.
