Russia includes more than 40 Australians on its 'blacklist', including journalists and defense contractors

Sep. 16 () –

The Russian Foreign Ministry on Friday updated its ‘blacklist’ including 41 other Australians, including journalists, arms contractors, for favoring Australia’s “anti-Russian agenda”.

Among those sanctioned — mostly journalists from Skynews, 7News, SBS, and Australian public broadcaster ABC — there are also university researchers and municipal deputies.

As detailed by the Foreign Ministry in a statement, this decision is made “in response to politically motivated sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities by the Australian Government.”

The Russian diplomatic portfolio has indicated that, in view of the fact that Canberra “has no intention of abandoning the anti-Russian course”, Moscow reserves the right to “continue working on updating the sanctioned list”.
