Sep. 16 () –
Grupo Bimbo has decided to close the factory in Paracuellos (Madrid), which employs 300 workers, 200 of them direct, as reported this Friday by the CC.OO., which has shown its support for the workforce and has underlined that there is already a calendar of strikes and demonstrations (September 26, October 3 and 4, and October 10 and 13).
Specifically, in the Paracuellos work center there are more than 200 workers who have been directly affected by Bimbo’s decision to close the plant and more than 75 indirect jobs.
The Federation of Industry of CC.OO has denounced this situation and will carry out mobilizations to stop the cessation of activity that would leave almost 300 families affected, in a situation that “it does not share or understand”, since “with the productions that exist today in the different factories, it is not possible to do without the productions that come out of Bimbo Paracuellos”.
For this reason, the main objective, according to the union, is to defend the viability and future of the Paracuellos factory, where an industrial plan is necessary.
“From the union section of CC.OO. in Grupo Bimbo we address all the workers of all the work centers of the group so that from this moment we avoid, as far as possible, giving facilities to the company to alleviate any damage it suffers as a result of the days of strike called in Bimbo Paracuellos,” he said.
