Electronic Arts has announced that its EA Originals label will be in charge of publishing the next game from Omega Force, the Koei Tecmo studio widely known for the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors franchises. About the title we know a few details details, which are accompanied by a artwork and the promise that the three companies will share more information by the end of the month. The Tokyo Game Show 2022 will end on September 18, so the title may not be featured at the event.

According to Electronic Arts and Koei Tecmo, Omega Force is working on a “great hunting game”, a genre that makes us think of action titles like Toukiden or Monster Hunter. Regarding the setting, both companies affirm that we are facing an “original game that will offer an AAA experience based on feudal fantasy Japan.” Whoever wants more details will have to wait two weeks at the most, and whoever wonders why Koei Tecmo turns to EA should read the following statements.

“It’s an honor to partner with EA Originals and be supported by a team with such an incredible track record of launching groundbreaking games,” says Yosuke Hayashi, Executive Vice President of Koei Tecmo. “The EA team fully embraces our creative independence and has become a very valuable partner offering their support in both development and distribution. Bringing together EA’s global resources with our own will allow us to introduce a new kind of hunting game to a global audience and expand our reach to markets around the world.”

As for the development studio Omega Force, it has experience in various genres, including hack and slash and action and hunting games among others. In addition to their Warriors series, the team is known for their work on Attack on Titan (the game based on the anime), Hyrule Warriors, Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest, Persona 5 Strikers, and more.

“Following the incredible success of EA Originals with recent releases like It Takes Two and Knockout City, we are excited to partner with the talented team at Omega Force,” said Jeff Gamon, General Manager of EA Partners. “They have taken the hunting genre to another level by mixing their proven talent in creating combat mechanics with innovative and unexpected new mechanics. We are very much looking forward to presenting this innovative new adventure to the world at the end of the month.”
