“Try Brazil 2022” is coming: the month of Brazilian gastronomy, cocktails and culture in Argentina, in the year of its bicentennial

Within the framework of the National Day of Brazil -September 7- the second edition of “TRY BRAZIL” begins, organized by CAMBRAS (Argentine-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services) with the support of the Embassy of Brazil in Buenos Aires. There will be various culinary proposals with dishes, menus, specialty coffees, desserts and cocktails, in a circuit of outstanding restaurants, cafes and bars, to rediscover the flavors of this country.

There will also be a vast agenda of cultural activities -plastic arts, cinema and literature- in various parts of the city under the #Brasileñate concept, during the month of Brazilian independence and in the year of its bicentennial.

Within the framework of the celebration of the national day of Brazil (September 7 – Independence Day), CHAMBER (The Argentine-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce) with the support of the Embassy of Brazil in Argentina announces the second edition of “TRY BRASIL”, with the aim of continuing to strengthen the bonds of friendship and continue spreading Brazilian gastronomy, cocktails and culture in Argentina.

On September 7, well-known monuments throughout the country were illuminated starting at 7:00 p.m. with the national colors of Brazil, green and yellow, as a tribute to the friendship that unites the two peoples, beginning the month of activities , where we can feel closer to the neighboring country, delighting ourselves with its art, gastronomy, its emblematic coffee and its delicious cocktails. Cultural activities are added to the agenda as well as a dance of flavors, so that more Argentines become familiar with emblematic products of the neighboring country such as the traditional cachaça (distilled from sugar cane), açaí, cocoa, coffee, cassava or passion fruit.

With the aim of inviting us to “Brazilianize ourselves”, the different proposals will be known through the CAMBRAS social networks, in order to infect us with the joyful spirit of Brazil with the novelties of this edition.

«The relationship between Argentina and Brazil is naturally close. We are united by affinities and values. We Argentines know its beaches, its cheerful spirit… Brazil awakens in us that “very legal” feeling and encourages us to want to discover more, its drinks, its traditions, its flavors. Our wish is that, for two weeks, Brazil feels like in Buenos Aires”, commented Analía Canale, director of Cambras.

“It is a pleasure to see the continuity of the cocktail project within the framework of ‘Taste Brazil’, especially in this very special year, which is the commemoration of the bicentennial of our independence”, says the Brazilian Ambassador in Buenos Aires, Reinaldo Salty. «The repertoire of participating Brazilian houses is of a high level and finds local partners to match. We hope that Argentines can taste the recipes here and get to know, as tourists, the houses that created them in Brazil », he concluded.

AGENDA TRY BRAZIL

With the aim of feeling a little less “saudade” for visiting Brazil and spreading the cultural breadth of the neighboring country, “Try Brazil” -under the concept “#Brasileñate”-, proposes joining the following activities:

Stomach refers to a homonymous film from 2007, considered the 74th best Brazilian film of all time. «Cola de Gallo» is the other recipe replicated by de los Santos, authored by Günter Sarfert for the Cora Restaurant and pays homage to the very Brazilian Rabo de Galo, a literal translation of the English “cocktail” that originated the words “cocktail” (in Portuguese) and “cocktail” (in Spanish). In the original formula, dating back to the 1950s, Rabo de Galo combines cachaça and red vermouth.
