Carlos III will meet this Saturday with the ministers of the new British Government

LONDON, Sep. 10 (DPA/EP) –

The members of the new British Government will hold their first meeting with King Charles III this Saturday, a few days after the country’s Prime Minister, Liz Truss, has formed her Executive.

The ministers will attend the Accession Council at St James’s Palace in London, where Charles III will be formally proclaimed sovereign of the United Kingdom, according to the DPA agency.

Later they will travel to Buckingham Palace to hold an audience with the monarch.

King Charles III received Liz Truss this Friday at Buckingham Palace in the first meeting between the two since Elizabeth II died on Thursday and, since the latter, commissioned the former Foreign Minister to form a new Executive last Tuesday.

Offering her condolences, the king shook her hand and thanked her, saying, “It is very kind of you to come, I know how busy you are.”

Previously, the prime minister has led tributes to the queen in the House of Commons while urging the country to support its new monarch.
