The power of the Nintendo Switch prevents the king of Fighters go back to the console
SNK has never revealed why its new games the king of Fighters they have not appeared on Nintendo Switch, but the reason is somewhat obvious.
The current Nintendo console has not been distinguished by the power it offers and it is precisely its poor specifications that prevent SNK from launching new the king of Fighters for this system.
In an interview with gamereactorproducer Yasuyuki Oda revealed that although he has brought previous installments of the series to the Nintendo console, he has also planned to release the most recent iterations, The King of Fighters XIV Y The King of Fighters XIV.
In case you missed it: the king of Fighters will receive fighters from samurai showdown.
However, Oda mentioned that modern games of the king of Fighters they are not compatible with the Nintendo console due to their hardware specifications, since they fall short of what one of these installments requires, so there are currently no plans to make it a reality.
The producer specifically talked about needing to load 3 characters and more resources between battle rounds, something the Nintendo Switch apparently can’t do.
“Yeah, obviously if you have a Switch, you have a lot of our retro content, you can play almost all of SNK’s fighting games. And we researched this even with The King of Fighters XIV and even [The King of Fighters] fifteenth. One of the biggest problems with KOF is that you have three characters and that you have to load all the resources between rounds and others. It really didn’t sit well with the hardware specs and technical limitations of the Switch. It was something that annoyed us a lot; we would love to do it and we are always thinking about it, but at the moment there are no plans,” said Oda.
