original news: Apple today made official the biggest update to date of its Watch family, which is renewed generationally and adds a third member: the Apple Watch Ultra. Long rumored, this high-performance, larger-battery, and highly-resistant model has been designed to meet the needs of extreme sports practitioners who are also demanding, such as diving, by providing exclusive features.
The new Apple Watch Ultra is assembled using a new titanium case covered with sapphire crystal. A different set of controls is integrated into its reinforced structure, with a large crown and a customizable Action button. Both elements have been designed to be handled with gloves, which will be greatly appreciated by mountaineers and winter sports fans.
Other notable features are the use of a screen with 2,000 nits of brightness, a 36-hour battery with a capacity of reaching 60 hours (the longest so far), multi-band GPS with L5 support, three microphones to capture voice even with wind, a loud 86 decibel speaker to play location alarms and specific software for water sports, with support for quick gestures underwater, resistance to WR 100 level and EN 13319 certification as if it were a professional depth gauge (up to 40 m). Also, all Watch Ultras have a data connection as standard.

New Apple Watch Series 8 and SE
The new Ultra may be the star, but it’s not the only member of the family. Along with it, the new Series 8 and SE have been announced. The Series 8 is perhaps the more interesting of the two, since it incorporates new motion sensors capable of detecting a car accident to notify the emergency services (this function is only activated when driving to save battery) and a thermometer with a deviation of 0.1 ºC.
The accuracy of the thermometer is such that the watch allows you to monitor ovulation cycles, which is another new feature in the Series 8. It is added to the low consumption mode, which allows you to extract a maximum of 36 hours of autonomy.
As for the cheap Watch SE, Apple’s “affordable” watch is now a bit cheaper, though it also comes with shock detection and a 20% speed boost by using the same processor as Apple’s. his older brother.
