Putin Proposes Holding Annexation Referendums in Occupied Territories on November 4

The threat of an annexation referendum to Russia has been planned since March on the ukrainian territories occupied by Kremlin forces since the start of the war. Hence, the proposal of the ruling United Russia party to hold a popular consultation to absorb the regions of southeastern Ukraine, such as Kherson and Zaporizhia.

The date chosen for the formation is the next november 4, Russian Unity Day. The person who raised it was the general secretary, Andréi Turchak, who called for taking advantage of a “historical date” for the entire Russian orbit to advance on the path towards the annexation of some territories that Moscow considers “liberated”, according to Europe Press.
