Interjet, which was declared bankrupt in August, stopped flying at the end of 2020 after the coronavirus pandemic aggravated its already battered finances. Since then, it has sought to reactivate itself and reach agreements with its smaller creditors, such as airports and suppliers.
However, the SAT is your biggest creditor.
“The total legal-accounting amount (of the debt) to the SAT at this time is approximately 30,000 million pesos,” Buenrostro said on Tuesday.
The official added that the firm could reduce its liabilities by 19,000 million pesos if it manages to show the appropriate documentation.
Founded in 2004 by Miguel Alemán, the grandson of a former Mexican president, Interjet began to show financial problems at the beginning of 2020, which worsened with the crisis unleashed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, at the end of that year, he stopped flying.
