US Undersecretary for Arms Control and International Security Bonnie D. Jenkins will travel to the Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore from September 5 to 14 to enhance cooperation in global health security, counter-proliferation, destruction of conventional weapons, civil-nuclear partnership, export control, strategic trade and enforcement of the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
In Manila, Philippines, from September 5-7, Under Secretary Jenkins will meet with senior officials and civil society partners to discuss civil nuclear energy cooperation, strategic trade control, and global health security.
In Hanoi, Vietnam, from September 8-10, Jenkins will meet with senior officials and civil society partners to discuss aviation and border security, nuclear non-proliferation, global health security, the creation of peacekeeping capacities and cooperative efforts to further expand the meaningful participation of women in all phases of peacebuilding.

In Vietnam, he will also take a trip to Quang Tri where he will visit sites that exemplify cooperation between the United States and Vietnam to inspect and remove legacy unexploded ordnance. During her stay, she will observe the survey and cleanup of unexploded ordnance, visit the Quang Tri Mine Action Center and meet with women who work in demining.
Finally, in Singapore from September 11-14, Jenkins will meet with senior officials to discuss a wide range of issues, including strategic trade and export control.
He will also meet with civil society partners working to strengthen global biosecurity. The Under Secretary will also attend the 2022 Singapore Summit on Export Controls, address the 10th annual joint industry outreach event co-sponsored by the United States and Japan, and engage with women from the region attending the inaugural Women in Strategic Trade event.
