AMD released version 22.6.1 of its Adrenalin drivers yesterdaybut it seems that the company cares enough about the correct operation of systems with discontinued graphics cards such as to have released version 22.6.1 Legacy of their Adrenalin drivers.
These drivers are designed for discontinued graphics cards, i.e. Fury, 300 Series, 200 Series and HD7000/8000 Series rangesall based on GCN cores, predecessors of the new architecture RDNA that arrived with the Radeon RX 5000 Series.
AMD hasn’t included information on new games, probably because most next-gen titles are too heavy for the graphics cards these drivers are targeting. However, they are still functional graphics cards for millions of users, which is why these drivers have been released.
The changes in version 22.6.1 Legacy they are based on correct existing bugs so far in these graphics cards, as well as patch software vulnerabilities that can cause security problems in computer systems. However, these are exclusive drivers for Windows 10, so if we want to move to Windows 11, we will have to resign ourselves to buying a new graphics cardwhatever the brand, to have support.
