Sep. 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –
An Israeli soldier suffered stab wounds this Friday in an attack near the Kiryat Arba settlement, north of the West Bank city of Hebron, allegedly at the hands of a Palestinian who was killed by security forces.
The incident took place at a military surveillance post, to which the alleged attacker approached. He managed to wound one of the soldiers in the trunk, according to medical sources cited by the ‘Jerusalem Post’, before another comrade opened fire.
Following the incident, there have been clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli soldiers in which the latter have fired tear gas, reports the WAFA news agency. According to witnesses cited by this means, the Israeli forces did not allow other people to reach the place where the alleged aggressor was, when he was still alive.
Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid has congratulated “the military who acted quickly to stop the terrorist.” “We will continue to fight against those who try to harm our citizens or our soldiers,” he warned.
