Six new grain ships leave Ukrainian ports for Turkey for inspection

Grain shipment continues as planned, says Ankara

The Turkish Ministry of Defense has reported this Friday that six ships loaded with cereals have departed from Ukrainian ports for Turkey for inspection under the agreement signed between Ukraine and Russia.

“The shipment of cereals in Ukrainian ports continues as planned,” said the Turkish Ministry of Defense on its official Twitter profile, from where it usually reports the departure of ships with cereals to the coordination center, which is located in Istanbul.

The agreement went ahead after the parties agreed to a plan sponsored by the UN, together with the collaboration of Ankara, to form this center in the Turkish capital with the aim of carrying out joint inspections at the entrances and exits of the ports and guarantee the security of the routes.

The ships cross the Black Sea to the Bosphorus Strait in Turkey, where the center is located, which is in charge of examining the ships that enter Ukraine to ensure that they do not carry weapons or combat material.
