BERLIN, Sep. 2 (Portaltic/EP) –
Video game monitors gain ground at IFA in Berlin, a fair focused on consumer electronics and household appliances that this year brings together proposals from various brands in which the curve seems to have found its niche in the world of video games.
Screens that go from a flat format to a curved one have become a reality, saving the user from having to choose between one form factor or another. Corsair previewed the new product range during Gamescom, with its XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240 monitor and flexible panel made by LG.
Precisely the South Korean company has brought to IFA a television, LG OLED Flex, which presents a flexible 42-inch OLED screen, which starts from a flat form factor and supports up to twenty different levels of curvature up to a maximum of 900R.
The curve is also present in the ULtraGear OLED gaming monitor, the first of this brand to integrate OLED technology, with a refresh rate of 240Hz and an UltraWide aspect ratio of 21:9. It combines a 45-inch size with 800R curvature.
Another proposal with a curved screen is the one made by Samsung with the Odyssey OLED G8 G85SB monitor, also the first ‘gaming’ monitor of this brand with an OLED panel, although in this case with a smaller diagonal size, 34 inches. And for greater immersion it features a 1800R curvature.
Samsung has also brought the Odyssey Ark monitor to IFA. This equipment is already on the market, where it offers a 55-inch diagonal with a 1000R curvature. This particular model allows you to view content in horizontal or vertical format, thanks to its base.
