In its day we met the first prototype of the Huawei Watch D, a watch that promised to be able to measure blood pressure through a system of strap accessories. Now, it is a reality and we have been able to test it at the IFA fair in Berlin this year.
Finally, the final design of the Huawei Watch D It includes a discreet inflatable system on the strap itself that, thanks to the integration of a miniature pressure pump that goes inside the watch, can be inflated and deflated at will to perform an accurate measurement of blood pressure.
The accuracy of the measurement reaches, according to the company, up to a margin of error of only 3 mmHG and, in fact, the device is being certified by the authorities for medical use.
The operation is based on the same principle as the meters that you can use in the doctor’s office: The air pump inflates and deflates the strap to be able to take the measurement, and the watch collects the measurement and even keeps a record of all the measurements to over time, displaying the results on a scale to see if they are normal values.
Additionally, the Huawei Watch D also includes a pulse sensor with support for blood oxygen measurement.
It is capable of lasting 7 days with regular use of several measurements from its sensors per day and also with receiving notifications. It also offers IP68 water resistance. At the moment we do not know its price and date of arrival in our country.
