As you surely know, Sonic is a character that has been characterized since its origins by its speed and agility in general. However, the community always wondered why, having these conditions, he cannot do something as simple as swimming.
Because of this, the very creator of sonic the hedgehogYuji Naka, recently revealed the reason for this situation, arguing that it was necessary to add something that the character was not good at.

As you could see, it all started with a tweet where they published a curious fact about the blue hedgehog, in which they said that Sonic cannot swim because its creators did not know that these animals can do it in real life, so Naka took advantage to say the following:
“Yeah, I didn’t know that. I first learned that hedgehogs could swim when I visited a hedgehog shelter in Germany, but Sonic can’t swim because I thought it would be better for him to have something he’s not good at as a character.”
