RAMALLA (WEST BANK), 1 Sep. (DPA/EP) –
A Palestinian has been shot dead during an operation by the Israeli security forces in the West Bank, in a convulsive day that has also resulted in another death, although in this case he was allegedly the victim of militiamen.
Near Ramallah, a 26-year-old man has died, killed by soldiers during an operation. The Israeli Army has arrested at least six people in the framework of the raids carried out during the night from Wednesday to Thursday.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health initially reported a second death attributed to Israel in Nablus, of a 25-year-old man, but the local governor has ended up accusing militants and has confirmed the arrest of three people.
The Israeli army has intensified its operations in the West Bank since the escalation of violence in the spring, which continues to break out periodically with cross-attacks.
