As we get closer to the release of The Last of Us: Part I, Naughty Dog shares more of what they included compared to the original experience. In the PlayStation 3 version, the infected were an enemy that could be very difficult to defeat and in the remake they will have a new ability that will make them more annoying for the player.

The studio in charge of the title today shared extensive unpublished video with gameplay directly captured from the PlayStation 5.

SPOILER: The gameplay does not show details of the plot (it focuses more on combat), but it shows minutes of an area not so early in the game’s history that also includes a secondary character in the plot, so if you do not know the original experience you may not want to see it before you play it.

In the video it is possible to see just over 7 minutes of gameplay in the Bill’s Town section, where Joel and Ellie go to meet Bill in search of some help to continue their adventure. Precisely, the gameplay shows confrontations that take place on the outskirts and inside an academic center in the region.

infected with The Last of Us: Part I They will be more resistant than those of the original game

Outside of the visual improvements to both characters and the environment in general, there is not much to highlight at first glance. But what is striking is that they will have a new ability that they did not have in the original game and that was implemented in the sequel.

We’re talking about the ability to crawl when they lose their lower limbs. As we told you, this mechanic was not present in the PlayStation 3 title or in the PlayStation 4 remaster, so it is a new addition and we do not doubt that it is one of the reasons why Naughty Dog refers that the combat of the remake will be much more dynamic and real.

It is important to mention that in the gameplay it is seen that this mechanic will appear in the earliest phase of the infected, known as Runners. So far it is unknown if the other types of infected will be able to do the same.

The video concludes with the confrontation against the Bloater, one of the most resistant and deadly types of infected in the universe of The Last of Us. Below you can see it.

In case you missed it: infected with The Last of Us: Part II they were going to have an exploding butt.
