RACE advises against these four brands of child car seats

Children under 12 years of age must use a special child seat in the car, for their own safety. But some have problems.

The Child Restraint Systems (SRI) are required on all vehicles that transport children. There are dozens of makes and models, and some are better than others. A handful, even are inadvisable. We talk about protecting the life of a child, and that is a very serious issue.

Every year a comprehensive European-wide report is carried out, which thoroughly analyzes the CRS available on the market. In Spain, the one in charge of carrying it out is RACE.

In total they have been reviewed 32 chair brands, and in general the test result is satisfactory. 28 of the 32 models have obtained a good score, and are considered safe and reliable. Nevertheless two brands and two models of child car seats have received a single star, and RACE itself advises against its purchase.

On the opposite side a single chair, Cybex Anoris T i-Size, has obtained the maximum score, 5 stars. It is a premium model that even has its own airbag. But as you might have guessed, it’s not cheap. It costs 750 euros.

And which are they the four CRS discouraged by the European report? They are divided into two groups, depending on the cause of the low score.
