As (unfortunately) was to be expected in these times in which networks allow anyone to be easily attacked behind the protection of the screen and keyboard, the singer who took the place of Chris Cornell along with the surviving members of soundgarden in the charitable performance which took place last December has received criticism. “The haters are going to hate while I live my dream,” she commented as a resigned response.
Shaina Shepherdvocalist of Bearaxewas in charge of going on stage at the Seattle Showbox next to Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd under the nickname of Nudedragons in a brief performance in which the bassist of Guns N’ Roses, Duff McKagan. All included in the thirteenth edition of the charity concert SMooCH for the benefit of Seattle Children’s Hospital.
The publication made on networks about this action by Hot Metal Magazine has been the one that has counted on Shaina’s responses to the haters’ criticism with her previous clear message about how “haters are going to hate” while she was living a dream like performing with the members of Soundgarden.
In response to another comment from a user who points out that not liking something is not the same as hating it, the vocalist is once again clear and direct about the experience: “Soundgarden is a revolutionary band that changed my life, your life, the world. I could never front Soundgarden. But I love making music with them. I did it for myself, for them, like any other musical adventure. I don’t care what anyone thinks, I never did. I care what they think, that will always matter to me. This whole topic doesn’t make sense. Just like your timeline.”
