MADRID Jan. 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Houthi rebels of Yemen have stated this Tuesday that over the last day they have carried out two armed attacks against Israeli territory, one of which would have been directed against a power plant located in the Eilat area, in the far south. of the country.
This was confirmed by the group’s military spokesman, Yahya Sari, in a speech published on social networks in which he assured that both this operation and another drone attack on the outskirts of Jaffa “have satisfactorily met their objectives.”
The insurgent group has carried out dozens of attacks against Israel and its economic interests in the region as a sign of support for the Palestinian population. Israel launched a military operation in the Gaza Strip that has already claimed more than 46,600 lives in response to the Hamas attacks on October 7.
The Palestinian Islamist group carried out an unprecedented offensive that left almost 1,200 dead and in which nearly 240 people were taken hostage. It is estimated that a hundred are still kidnapped in the Gaza Strip, although their true state of health is unknown.
