Until September of last year, Infonavit had a credit portfolio of 1.8 trillion pesos, which means an increase of 5.2% compared to the same period in 2023.
The amount the Institute lends is only surpassed by BBVA México, the bank of Spanish origin and the largest in the country.
With a credit portfolio that amounts to 1.84 trillion pesos, the bank maintains leadership in terms of credit portfolio, according to figures from the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV).
In third place is Banorte, the bank of Monterrey origin, whose loan portfolio was 1.07 billion pesos as of last September.
By assets, which are all the assets of financial institutions, BBVA maintains the leadership with 3.11 trillion pesos, while the Infonavit has 2.45 billion pesos .
The Infonavit figures are relevant because next February the Law of the Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers will be discussed, in which at least 20 modifications are expected.
