The Italian photographer and publicist Oliviero Toscani, famous for his campaigns for Benetton, has died at the age of 82, a victim of amyloidosis, in the intensive care unit of the Cecina hospital, in Livorno, his family announced this Monday.
“It is with immense pain that we give the news that today, January 13, 2025, our beloved Oliviero has embarked on his next journey. We kindly ask for confidentiality and understanding for this moment that we would like to face in the privacy of the family. Kirsti Toscani with Rocco, Lola and Ali,” reported his wife Kirsti and their children, in a note reported by Italian media, including the public television channel RAI.
The photographer was hospitalized since last Friday in the intensive care unit of the Cecina hospital, in the town of Livorno, due to the worsening of his health conditions two years after being diagnosed with the incurable disease amyloidosis.
