At least nine people have died and 24 have been injured as a result of a traffic accident that occurred this Sunday about 130 kilometers from the Libyan city of Waddan, in the central region of Jufrah.

The spokesman for the Misurata Medical Center, in the northwest of the country, Mohamed Al Nihom, confirmed this figure after the bus in which the victims were traveling, a vehicle from the Al Shahm public transport company, collided with a herd of camels on the road from Wadi al Lood towards Wadi Abu Najim, about 130 kilometers from the town of Waddan.

The passengers were traveling from the central region of Jufra to the Libyan capital, Tripoli, as reported by the transport company in a statement, cited by the news portal The Libya Observer.

Most of the injured have been transferred to the Abu Grein and Waddan hospitals, in the surroundings of the accident site, although the Misurata health center is in contact with them to receive and treat the injured who need it, he noted. his spokesperson.

The Minister of Health of the Government of National Unity, based in Tripoli and internationally recognized, Ramadan Abu Janah, has expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, has assured that he will follow the condition of the survivors of the accident and has ordered your Ministry to coordinate with the affected health centers to provide them with the necessary support.
