MADRID Jan. 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered to send the head of the secret services, the Mossad, David Barnea, to Doha to advance negotiations with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Netanyahu’s office has reported the sending of Barnea in an official statement in which it specifies that the person in charge of the Armed Forces for the hostages, General Nitzan Alon, and his advisor, Ophir Falk, will also travel to the capital of Qatar.

Netanyahu made the decision after meeting with Defense Minister Israel Katz and members of the Israeli security leadership, as well as with American representatives of both the outgoing president, Joe Biden, and the incoming president, Donald Trump.

Israeli press had previously reported that Barnea’s dispatch to Qatar would be an indicator of progress in negotiations for a ceasefire and the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip.
