Aug. 28 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Libya has denounced that the bloody clashes between rival militias that occurred on Saturday in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, have reached four medical centers in the city.
Among the medical centers reached is a maternity hospital, according to the United Nations agency, which has not provided additional balances of the heaviest fighting seen in months in the capital.
The Ministry of Health of the Libyan Unity Government has estimated that Saturday’s hostilities resulted in the death of 23 people and more than 150 wounded.
In the statement published on its Twitter account, UNICEF in Libya has called for the protection of civilians, medical facilities and people, since “they are not the target” of any armed conflict.
