Last weekend, Zendaya walked the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet wearing her new engagement ring and revealed that her longtime partner, Tom Holland, was engaged. The proposal reportedly occurred during the holidays. Tom’s father, Dominic Holland, has revealed more details about the engagement in his latest Patreon Blog Post.
The English actor and author shared in his post that he knows some of the people who follow him do so to get more details about the celebrity couple. Dominic wrote that he was “amused” but was happy to have something to report this time.
“This week’s big news is a good example of that opportunity for me: Are they engaged or not?” he wrote. “Zendaya is wearing a ring and Tom is nowhere to be seen, which adds to the intrigue.”
Dominic then stated that he wouldn’t “add anything new and juicy like a date, a location, or a guest list,” but he would share “father and son’s different approaches to proposing.”
“Tom, as you know, was incredibly well prepared. I had bought a ring. He spoke to his father and got permission to propose to his daughter,” Dominic explained. “Tom had everything planned… When, where, how, what to say, what to wear.”
Dominic shared that when he proposed to Tom’s mother, Nikki Holland, “he was nothing like my oldest son, who had obviously seen all the sludge movies because as a kid I never saw him reading a book.”
He added: “For most men, the stress of buying an engagement ring is being able to afford it. I suspect this was the least of Tom’s worries, more concerned about the stone, it is [sic] size and clarity, its casing, what a jewelry box.”
