LOS ANGELES: From celebrities losing their homes to postponements of notable Hollywood movie premieres and events, the ongoing wildfires in the Pacific Palisade area of Los Angeles are creating havoc for both residents and the film industry.
Hollywood has already felt the effects of the wildfires with several premieres canceled and production of television shows halted. With the evacuation underway, several celebrities were grateful for the safety of their family and friends, however, they were left heartbroken after losing their homes in the fire. From Mandy Moore to Paris Hilton, numerous movie stars have lost their sweet home in the fire.
Let’s take a look at some of the notable aftermath of the Los Angeles wildfires in Hollywood.
Daniella Pineda
‘Jurassic World’ franchise star Daniella Pineda is the latest Hollywood celebrity to share her grief over losing her home in the Los Angeles wildfires, according to Deadline. In an emotional Instagram post, the actress wrote: “This was the first house I bought. My first. The fire broke out so quickly that the only thing I could grab was my dog and my laptop and that was it. I lost everything else. I have 1 pair of shoes in my name. I’m happy to be alive. Grateful to be alive. People really support each other when disaster strikes. Thank you to everyone who offered to help me.”
He also remembered his pet fish, which he couldn’t save in the fire.
Mandy Moore
‘This Is Us’ star Mandy Moore shared that she is “devastated and devastated” after the Eaton Fire, located about 30 miles east of the Pacific Palisades Fire, spread rapidly through her neighborhood. On her Instagram, the actress shared a video of her burned house while passing by.
She wrote: “Honestly, I am shocked and paralyzed by everything that so many people have lost, including my family. My children’s school no longer exists. Our favorite restaurants leveled up. Many friends and loved ones have also lost everything. Our community is broken but we will be here to rebuild it together. Sending love to everyone affected and on the front lines trying to get this under control.”
In the following publication, the actress also stated that her house is practically intact, but it is not habitable.
Paris Hilton
Singer and actress Paris Hilton is also one of those celebrities who was affected by the ongoing wildfire in Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles. Despite not suffering physical injuries, the actress was left heartbroken as she watched her house burn in the fire on a news channel.
On her Instagram account, Paris Hilton shared a video of a news broadcast showing her house on fire in Malibu. The actress felt “heartbroken” and said that no one should go through such an experience according to Deadline.
“Heartbroken beyond words. Sitting with my family, watching the news, and watching our house in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should have to experience,” Hilton shared on Instagram. The actress also recalled her precious memories linked to the house.
Bozoma San Juan
‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Bozoma Saint John also lost her home in the Malibu fire, according to Deadline. Expressing her grief over losing a home, Bozoma spoke about what home meant and what it represented in her life.
“This is the house I wanted. The house I prayed for. The house I worked for with blood, sweat and tears. The house where I put a keypad instead of a keyhole on the front door because I wanted all my family and friends to have a code and use the house whenever they wanted,” Saint John posted on Instagram along with photos “that now They will serve as reminders of your home.”

The premiere was scheduled to take place at the DGA Theater in West Hollywood, with arrivals scheduled for 5.30pm for a 7pm screening on Tuesday. The cast was scheduled to attend Lopez, Jerome, Don Cheadle, Michael Peña, Mykelti Williamson, Robles and her mother Judy Robles, Deadline reported.

According to Deadline’s report, Universal decided to cancel the premiere of ‘Wolf Man’ at the TCL Chinese Theater on Tuesday. “Tonight’s premiere of Wolf Man is canceled due to sensitivities surrounding the worsening weather situation in Los Angeles and related evacuations,” reads an email from a Universal public relations representative.
PGA Awards nominations
The Producers Guild has postponed nomination announcements for its annual awards show until Sunday, January 12 due to the LA Wildfires deadline.
WGA Awards nominations
The Writers Guild said in a statement cited by Deadline that they will postpone the release of their annual WGA Awards nominations from January 9-13. “With Los Angeles under a state of emergency due to multiple wildfires, we will delay the announcement. of nominees until Monday, January 13, 2025,” the WGA West and WGA East said in a statement,” the statement read.
Academy Awards
The 2025 Oscar nominations announcement day has been moved from Friday, January 17 to Sunday, January 19. According to the letter released by Academy CEO Bill Kramer, the voting window for nominations was extended by two days. It will now close on January 14.
The Los Angeles Sound Branch in-person Bake-Off scheduled for Saturday, January 11 has been canceled. The Academy Museum was also closed Wednesday to offer its deepest condolences to those affected by the devastating fires in Southern California, according to Deadline.
Critics’ Choice Awards
The 2025 Critics Choice Awards scheduled for Sunday, January 12 have been postponed. The 30th annual ceremony would have taken place at the Barker Hanger at Santa Monica Airport with Chelsea Handler hosting for the third consecutive time. They are now scheduled for January 26, according to CCA CEO Joey Berlin, cited by Deadline.
