Acer has introduced two portable gaming devices within the Nitro series, Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11, which are powered by an AMD Ryzen 8040 series processors, and an adjustable controller for Android and iOS smartphones.
Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11 are two portable console proposals that allow access to users’ video game libraries in the cloud, and that speed up this process with the dedicated hot key that leads directly to the Acer Game Space application.
Both devices feature Hall Effect triggers and sticks, while the Nitro Blaze 11 also includes detachable controllers for individual and connected play, plus a built-in kickstand, front-facing camera for video calling and streaming.
They are powered by AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processors with Ryzen AI, and up to 144Hz WQXGA touch displays (8.8 inches or 10.95 inches) with 500 nits of brightness, combined with AMD Radeon 780M graphics, Radeon Super Resolution and the AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution technology for fast graphical scalability and tear-free frames.
They offer 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM at 7500 MT/s and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage, as well as DTS:X Ultra audio and connectivity with USB 4 (Type-C), USB 3.2 (Type-C) ports and support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
Along with the portable consoles, Acer has presented the Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller, a plug-and-play controller that is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones, to which it connects with a USB Type-C port, and has An adjustable design that fits screens up to 8.3 inches.
The Acer Nitro Blaze 8 (GN782U) and Nitro Blaze 11 (GN7112U) portable consoles have been presented within the framework of CES 2025 in Las Vegas (United States), and will be available in Spain starting in the second quarter, from 999 euros and 1,199 euros, respectively. The Acer Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller, for its part, will arrive in the first quarter, starting at 89.99 euros.
