Acer has updated its line of Predator gaming laptops with the flagship Predator Helios 16 AI and Predator Helios 18 AI models and the mid-range Predator Helios Neo 16S AI, which are now equipped with Intel Core Ultra 200HX series processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards.
The technology company has announced at CES 2025 in Las Vegas (United States) the updates to the Predator laptops, which are designed to offer better gaming and AI performance thanks to the Intel Core Ultra 200HX series processors and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards with DLSS 4 rendering technology.
Helios 16 AI (PH16-73) and Helios 18 AI (PH18-73) are the most powerful gaming laptops that Acer has ever presented. Both are equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU.
Helios 16 AI can be configured with up to 64GB of onboard DDR5 system memory, and supports up to 4TB of 5th Generation PCIe storage, while the Helios 18 AI supports up to 192GB of memory and up to 6TB of 5th Generation PCIe storage.
The cooling system uses the patented 6th generation AeroBlade 3D metal fans, with 0.05mm thin blades, increasing airflow by 20% compared to plastic fans, while liquid metal thermal grease and vector heat pipes also help keep temperatures down.
Helios 16 AI features a WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate, while the Helios 18 AI has a WQXGA 4K Mini LED display, with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both laptops include DTS:X Ultra audio technology, with four speakers in the case of the Helios 16 AI and six in the case of the Helios 18 AI.
Both computers feature the latest PredatorSense utility application, which allows you to manage system performance, fans and lighting. And they ship with the latest version of Ethernet E5000B, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 and two Thunderbolt 5 ports.
In the mid-range, Acer has introduced the Predator Helios Neo 16S AI (PHN16S-71), which supports up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU for laptops, and has a configuration of up to 32 GB of memory and 2 TB of storage.
Its WQXGA OLED display has a 240Hz refresh rate and supports 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. At a thermal level, it includes fifth-generation AeroBlade technology and liquid metal thermal grease in the CPU.
Alongside the laptops, Acer has updated the Predator range with the XB323QX monitor, which offers a 31.5-inch 5K IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 0.5ms response time (GTG), and option to switch to WQHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440) at 288Hz with dynamic resolution and frequency (DFR) technology, plus Nvidia G-SYNC. Equipped with DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 ports, it offers excellent connectivity.
NITRO SERIES
The range of gaming products also features new Nitro series equipment, with the update of the Acer Nitro V AI line, which includes up to the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor, with an NPU that reaches up to 50 TOPS of AI and supports the latest features and applications based on artificial intelligence. The 15-inch model also has a variant with up to an Intel Core i7-240H processor.
Nitro V is available in different screen sizes, including 14, 15, 16 and 17-inch models, and comes with AI-powered graphics, with up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU for laptops with the latest NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 technologies for realistic virtual scenes. with ray tracing and up to 32 GB of memory and 2 TB of storage.
