MADRID Dec. 24 () –

The president of Telefónica, José María Álvarez-Pallete, has acquired 100,000 shares of the company he leads for a total value of 394,000 euros, according to the records of the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

Specifically, said purchase of securities occurred last Friday, the 20th, one day after Telefónica paid the second part of its dividend of 0.15 euros per share.

According to the calendar established by the teleco, last December 16 was the last day on which shareholders could acquire Telefónica shares with the right to receive said dividend.

Thus, on the 19th, the operator distributed the second tranche of the total dividend for 2024, which amounts to 0.3 euros gross per share and of which it already paid out the first part – 0.15 euros per share – last June.

In this way, on December 19, Telefónica distributed a total of 850.52 million euros corresponding to the second tranche of the dividend, of which its main investors, that is, the Government (through the State Society of Industrial Participations, SEPI), CriteriaCaixa and STC were the largest beneficiaries with around 85 million euros each.

In this sense, SEPI owns 10% of Telefónica, CriteriaCaixa 9.99% and STC 9.97%.
