Call for undergraduate or postgraduate thesis for Fondecyt project

CALL FOR UNDERGRADUATE THESIS FOR FONDECYT PROJECT

The FONDECYT Initiation project Nº11220861 “Evaluation of the initial emotional formation of teachers of pedagogy careers in basic education in Chile” is looking for an undergraduate or postgraduate thesis student from any university in the country. The project that seeks to know the characteristics of the emotional formation processes received by pedagogy students in basic education in our country considering different levels of different levels of analysis.

The selected person will join the project team led by the main researcher Dr. Rodolfo Bachler Silva, associate professor of psychology at the Universidad Mayor.

The topics of the thesis should correspond to one of the following:

• Perception of pedagogy students in basic education in Chile about the emotional training received.
• Implicit conceptions of pedagogy students and teacher educators about the role of emotions in educational processes
• Explicit conceptions of pedagogy students and teacher educators about the role of emotions in educational processes
• Treatment of emotions during the processes of professional practice of pedagogy students in basic education
• Processes of emotional change experienced by pedagogy students in basic education during university training

These topics serve as a general reference. The specific topic will be defined between the student and the researcher responsible for the project.

Requirements:

• The thesis student must be enrolled or accepted in an accredited undergraduate or postgraduate program
• The researcher responsible for the project must fulfill the function of tutor or co-tutor in the thesis of the beneficiary student. It is the responsibility of the applicant to guarantee that her program accepts co-tutoring or tutoring by external professors.
• A certificate will be required at the time of formalizing the collaboration.
• Although it is not an exclusive requirement to apply, those who have previous experience in research will be positively valued.

Conditions

• The participation of the thesis student in this project will be remunerated with a total payment of $500,000 (gross). The amount will be paid in two installments, against delivery of products to be agreed with the principal investigator of the project.
• Maximum duration of one year in the case of undergraduate
• The payment of fees is incompatible with the current ANID scholarship.
• The project contemplates the publication of academic articles or opinion columns in which the thesis student may participate as a co-author.

Application documents:

• Summarized CV (maximum 2 pages). Include relevant academic activities and level of English
• Letter of intent describing motivations to participate in this project. Clearly indicate whether or not you have an ANID scholarship.
• Sample of some material written by the applicant (essay, thesis project, work document, etc.)
• Certificate of regular student or acceptance of the program in which the thesis is framed.
