MADRID Dec. 21 () –
The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, appealed this Friday to the international community asking not to normalize “Russia’s madness” and urged greater pressure against its “everyday terrorism”, while thanking the willingness of its foreign allies to provide Kiev with more defense systems to defend itself against Moscow’s attacks.
“It is clear that the world should not perceive this madness of Russia as something routine: everyday terrorism deserves increasing pressure on the terrorist. Russia must be held accountable, and even if it is led by a completely inadequate person, the pressure on them must make the Russian state feel what reality is and how reality can punish international criminals. More sanctions against Russia are necessary,” Zelensky said in his daily evening speech.
In this regard, the Ukrainian president has highlighted the role of his international partners in defending the country against Russian bombings, as well as his commitment to “provide more air defense systems and more weapons that can protect against terrorists”, and welcomed the “new agreements on air defense systems” recently reached in Brussels.
Zelensky’s words come after at least one person was killed and 12 others were injured this Friday due to an attack launched by the Russian Army against the Ukrainian capital, kyiv, in what Moscow has described as a “massive” bombing in response to the recent attack with American and British-made missiles against the Rostov region (southwest).
