There is no better time to learn about the latest news in televisions than CES. Every January the Las Vegas convention center becomes the catwalk on which the launches of the next 12 months parade, although some of these premieres take longer to wait than others. This is the case of the LG Signature OLED T, which after a long wait will hit the market.

Unveiled a year ago as if it were already a production model (or at least pre-series), LG has announced that its 77-inch transparent OLED television will go on sale in December. The United States will be the first country to receive it, followed by other markets yet to be defined.

The LG Signature OLED T is a peculiar television whose screen can alternate between opaque (raising a kind of black curtain behind the screen) and transparent. In the second mode of operation, the AOD (Always-On-Display) function leaves the screen on continuously to display photos, videos and relevant information such as the weather, sports results or the name of the song currently playing. that moment.

The technical specifications of the LG Signature OLED T are partial for now. We know that it has 4K/UHD resolution and that the panel has been certified as G-Sync Compatible and FreeSync Premium with 120 Hz refresh, but details such as maximum brightness are unknown.

We also do not know the number of ports, which are integrated into an independent box, the Zero Connect Box. This solution, used by other high-end LG TVs, connects to the screen itself wirelessly to stream audio and video “latency-free.” Initially, its installation is completely free (within the limitations of the signal), although the most practical thing will be to leave it on the television cabinet itself, which is an integral part of the product.

The price in the United States of the LG Signature OLED T will be $60,000.
