Lenovo ThinkBook Plus: This is the first laptop with a roll-up screen

They have been seeing each other for a long time flexible screens in all types of formats at different fairs, events and demonstrations from different manufacturers. One of the concepts that is often taught is roll-up screens, a way to take advantage of flexible panels to expand or reduce the size of a screen without the annoying folds that can be seen in folding models.

Now, thanks to the well-known “leaker” Evan Blass (@evleaks) we have been able to learn about the proposal that Lenovo is preparing to teach at CES 2025: The 6th generation Lenovo ThinkBook Plus: the world’s first roll-up display laptop.

From what we can see in the images, the screen emerges from the base and unrolls upwards using a casing system that slides over a smaller one. In this way, the size of the screen grows or decreases depending on the distance between both cases.

We will have to see if it is a manual system or if we have a motorized module that controls the movement of the screen. We bet more on the second option, since that way we can control the speed and travel of the screen and avoid possible damage.

It is expected that this system allows the height of the screen to be adjusted to the user’s taste between different lengths, but it would not be unreasonable to think that the screen has two modes: either rolled up or fully deployed.
