Cetes fall below 10% prior to Banxico's announcement

“For the Bank of Mexico we estimate a cut of 25 basis points in the funding rate, although we do not rule out that some member could lean towards a cut of 50 basis points,” Intercam highlighted in a report.

With that decision on the part of the central bank, double-digit yield rates are expected to come to an end. However, Cetes remain one of the safest options to invest in because inflation in November was 4.55%.

What was the performance of the Cetes this week?

The 28-day Cetes yields offer a yield of 9.80%, while the three-month yield rate is 9.84%.

After six months, the rate of return on these instruments was 9.76% and two years later the rate dropped to 9.99%.
