A few days ago, the Director of Social Prosperity, Gustavo Bolívar, announced that in 2025 there will be an adjustment of funds in the allocations for social aid. The budget of 9 billion will be reduced to 5.3, therefore, Significant changes will need to be made to current policies. What are the programs and subsidies that can be accessed next year?
However, there are subsidies that will be maintained and will not undergo modifications because they are those that ensure the integration of those beneficiaries who are in a disadvantaged environment. Among them we can find:
1.Citizen Income:
It is one of the most important programs in Colombia. It is broken down into two other significant aids:
-Care Assessment: It seeks to serve households that face significant barriers to accessing the labor market, especially those with children under 6 years of age and people with disabilities. It is one of the “untouchable” programs for Social Prosperity.
Colombia Without Hunger: It focuses on providing economic support to households that face difficulties in accessing sufficient and nutritious food, especially those families who have children between 6 and 17 years old.
2. Greater Colombia: Through a monthly subsidy, this program provides support to people aged 60 or older who do not have a monthly income. Gustavo Bolívar assured that it was not going to be cut, on the contrary, it is likely that an increase will be given to those who receive it.

4. Young Income: This subsidy provided by the Government of Colombia encourages the inclusion of young people in the educational system and improve their job opportunities through monetary transfers. Its disappearance in 2025 is not confirmed.
5. VAT refund: Through this program, more than 2 million families obtain VAT relief on essential products. It is a fundamental tool for the well-being of the beneficiaries, but its continuity next year has not yet been confirmed.
