Telefónica and Epic Games have announced a long-term collaboration to offer a more competitive ecosystem to users of new Android devices compatible with the operator’s network in Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany and Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America, which will have the service of Epic Games Store preinstalled.

Thanks to the integration of the official Epic Games store in these terminals, users will be able to more easily download titles such as Fortnite, Fall Guys or Rocket League Sideswipe, as well as third party games in the future.

The alliance between Telefónica and Epic Games has been going on for some time, since the operator was the first to introduce the Carrier Billing payment method in the Epic Games Store. Additionally, both companies also created an interactive music experience in Fornite with the O2 Arena during the pandemic, which attracted more than 10.8 million players.

This ‘battle royale’ is included in the developer’s ‘online’ store, which It comes pre-installed on new devices with Telefónica’s Android operating system in Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany and Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America.

Thanks to the expansion of its collaboration with the developer, the operator takes “one more step to offer high-quality digital experiencesaccessible and innovative” to its clients, in the words of its Director of Alliances and Devices, Lorena Senator-Gómez, which are included in a joint statement.

Likewise, Epic Games have recognized that they seek to expand their relationship with the operator to provide “even more advantages to the players” of its game catalog, according to Epic Games Senior Director of Growth Partnerships, Michael Modon.
