At least one Pakistani soldier has died in an operation carried out this Tuesday and in which security forces have killed 15 suspected terrorists in the town of Zhob, located in the province of Balochistan, in eastern Pakistan and near the border with Afghanistan.
The Pakistani Army Press Office (ISPR) has identified the deceased soldier as Arif ur Rehman, 32, as a result of the “intense exchange of fire.” Security forces have also recovered “a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives,” according to a statement published on their website.
Pakistani security forces have carried out dozens of operations in recent months against the group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), known as the Pakistani Taliban and responsible for dozens of attacks against security forces since the ceasefire was broken. the fire in November 2022.
