The funds will be channeled through organizations that work on the ground and will seek to alleviate the consequences of the monsoon rains registered in the provinces of Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab and Jyber Pajtunjwa.

This includes the provision of temporary shelter, food, water, health services and transfers. This aid is added to the one sent worth 350,000 euros to specifically help the communities in Balochistan.

As indicated by the Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarcic, the unusual monsoon rains that have shaken the country have left more than a million people homeless and in a situation of needing direct help. “The EU’s contribution underlines the commitment to the people of Pakistan and enables partners to provide critical aid to those most affected,” he noted.
