Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a first-person single-player adventure that takes place between the films Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. We find ourselves in the year 1937, when Indy is teaching at Marshall University while Nazi archaeologist Emmerich Voss is searching for mysterious artifacts for the Third Reich. Its spearhead is Colonel Viktor Gantz and the objective is to gain the secret power of the Great Circle, which is drawn by forming a line between the greatest wonders of the world. Why are these sites aligned, what connections do they have and why? reason?
The version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for PS5 will be available during spring 2025.
If the Nazis are up to something it can’t be good, so Indiana Jones will get back to work to live a story of exploration, action and puzzles that will take place in different parts of the world, including the Vatican, the pyramids of Egypt and the sunken temples of Sukhothai. The narrative is linear, but the maps are large enough to explore and tackle side quests to reveal new mysteries. Completing quests awards adventure points to upgrade Indy’s skills, while finding adventure books unlocks new skills. A diary acts as a guide.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has as its motto “You don’t play as Indy. You are Indy”, and this largely explains the choice of the first-person perspective. The game sometimes uses third-person perspective to better reflect major narrative events. Third person is also used to get around certain obstacles. The immersion would not be complete without an Indiana Jones identical to the one in the movies, so players can expect a character who, in addition to being intelligent and bold, has a sense of humor, does not give up dressing up and never leaves home without his whip. The whip is a very useful weapon for getting rid of enemies, but it also acts as a tool for interacting with the environment.
Balance when using perspective also applies to action. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle offers players an experience tailored to their playing style, but always keeping in mind that the protagonist is Indy. Situations can be resolved with stealth, combat, or a little of each. What will never be lacking is creative problem solving. In addition to the whip and his fists, the famous archaeologist has his revolver. The archaeologist also has a camera and receives additional experience photographing cats.
