Israel confirms an attack against “Hezbollah members” who were in a “weapons depot”
Dec. 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported this Sunday the death of two people in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon in the midst of the ceasefire declared with the Shiite Hezbollah militias, although both parties have been blaming each other for days for violating the agreement.
The attack took place in the town of Dibbin and a man and a woman died in the bombing, according to the Ministry.
The Israeli Army has limited itself to confirming an attack against members of Hezbollah who were operating in a weapons depot, as the military explained in a subsequent statement.
The agreement provides for Hezbollah to withdraw behind the Litani River, about 30 kilometers north of the border between Israel and Lebanon. Israeli ground troops will withdraw from Lebanon in stages over 60 days.
However, Israel has reserved the right to attack Lebanon if there is any threat from Hezbollah.
