I have an MP3 for swimming that works underwater, but this is the case: if it breaks down I’ll go for this one

Bone conduction technology is already very popular, especially for runners and cyclists who want to always keep their ears alert to what is happening in their environment, but it has also opened a very interesting door for swimmers, and I am exploring it in depth.

A year ago I bought – well, they gave me, to be exact – some Shokz OpenSwima aquatic MP3 that uses bone conduction to transmit quality sound underwaterand the truth is that it is the best decision of my life.

That said, they have become so essential to me that I live in fear of the moment they break down, something inevitable in technology, although I will most likely lose them in the pool or the locker room before that happens. The good thing is that I have already thought of its replacement: the Lenovo X5.

These bone conduction headphones have Bluetooth and can also be used as a water MP3 player since they are waterproof.

Once I have decided that bone transmission headphones are suitable for swimming, a new range of models opens up for sale, and these from Lenovo are incredibly cheap, for less than 30 euros.

Even if they sound worse or have less autonomy than the Shokz OpenSwim, the price difference is big enough enough for me to agree to give up a couple of things.

In addition, the Lenovo model does do something that the Shokz model does not have in its standard edition – in the OpenSwim Pro– yes, and they have Bluetooth, in case you want to use them as bone conduction headphones out of the water.

It should be noted that Bluetooth under water doesn’t work, so a water MP3 only plays locally stored audiosthe old way: you download the MP3 and transfer it to its memory from the computer.

It has an AliExpress Choice label, and that means that shipping is quite fast, in just five days or even less, but not only that, but you also have 15 days to easily return the product through the Post Office.

I have been able to personally verify that it is quite easy. You request a refund, take the package to any Post Office and the money is returned practically immediately to the payment method.
