MADRID Dec. 7 () –
Denmark has sent a second batch of F-16 fighters to Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, who thanked this Saturday for the Danish “example of leadership” to continue “defending lives” in the face of constant attacks by the Armed Forces of Russia.
Zelensky has highlighted on social networks that the first batch of planes “is already intercepting Russian missiles, saving lives and (protecting) infrastructure.” “Now, our air shield is even stronger,” he said, in a message in which he expressed special thanks to the Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen.
The delivery of fighters has been one of Zelensky’s main demands to reinforce the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the midst of the Russian offensive and the president has once again pointed out that, “if all partners were as determined” as Denmark, ” “Russian terror would have become impossible by now.”
Denmark, also involved in training Ukrainian pilots, had already delivered six F-16s and the prime minister estimated the total number of fighters that would arrive at 19, without a precise schedule.
