Even though Microsoft launched the new Sticky Notes app for Windows 11, many users are still using the classic app.

Specifically, the classic application is causing a series of errors in these last few days, exactly one related message Can’t verify login information.

The error message is: “We cannot verify your login information. Your account does not have a mailbox, so we cannot save your notes to the cloud.”

This is an issue with Classic Sticky Notes, affecting both Windows 11 and Windows 10.

Interestingly, work or school accounts have no problems logging into classic Quick Notes. Luckily, Notes are still accessible through the OneNote app where they sync properly.

If you don’t want to wait for Microsoft to implement a solution from the server side, you can do the following things.

Since notes are stored in your Outlook account, you can directly access them from there.

So directly log in to your email account. Outlook and go to the quick notes section to access them.

The other solution is to switch to the new Sticky Notes app, although you’ll have to do without certain features that haven’t been carried over yet.
