Google has been making different changes to its search engine in 2024, changes that have been harshly criticized for changing things and not seeing an improvement in the results.
However, the Google search engine no longer offers clean results, but instead mixes a multitude of results from YouTube, short TikTok videos and others with traditional classic websites, which makes everything very confusing.
In addition, Google has been including different aspects of artificial intelligence to the search engine, such as the criticized AI Overviews, even offering some incorrect and strange answers at its launch.
The changes will not stop there, because the CEO of Google, Sundar Pichaihas promised that in 2025 the Google search engine will change profoundly.
Sundar Pichai announced this change during the New York Times Dealbook Summitand where he was talking a lot about artificial intelligence.
“I think even in early 2025, you’ll be surprised by the kinds of new things search can do compared to what it can do today,” the CEO said.
Google, for the first time, is going to face the threat in the search engine market with OpenAI’s SearchGPT proposal.
When SearchGPT is available to all users throughout 2025, we will see the scope of the OpenAI proposal in the search engine market, because it could be the first time in history that Google could see its hegemony threatened.
For this, Google will include more AI advances in its search engine. Pichai believes that AI models will improve in 2025 in terms of general reasoning and realization of the multi-step process: “Progress will be more and more difficult. When I look towards 2025, there are no longer low-hanging fruit, I think the slope is steeper,” he said.
Google is including a multitude of aspects of artificial intelligence in absolutely all of its services, even in applications that in principle do not fit with AI such as Google Drive, Google Docs or Gmail.
