MADRID Dec. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Kurdish militias of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have announced their deployment “in the city of Deir Ezzor and west of the Euphrates River” after days of offensives in the province of the same name, in eastern Syria.
The SDF decided to begin this operation to defend itself against Syrian armed groups backed by Turkey, an irreconcilable enemy of the SDF, with the Syrian National Army at the helm (not to be confused with the regular forces of the Syrian Government).
After announcing on Tuesday the takeover of seven towns in the province, the SDF announced this Friday that the deployment in the provincial capital has “the fundamental objective of protecting the security of our people”, without the Syrian Government having yet made a statement. about it.
