A few days ago the specifications of Intel Arc B570 and B580 graphics cardsand today Intel has officially presented them, so we already know its price and release date.
The new generation of Intel Arc Battlemage graphics cards, for now, is limited to competing with the entry range from AMD and Nvidia, in the gaming market.
But this range is also the best-selling and, according to Intel, its new cards have the best performance/price ratio on the market. Let’s see what they offer.
Intel Arc B570 and B580
Such as has explained Intel itself, these gaming graphics cards are focused on running games at 1440p and 60 fps.
The new Intel Arc B570 It integrates 18 Xe2 cores, with 18 ray-tracing units, and 144 AI engines. It offers 10 GB of GDDR6 VRAM on a 160-bit memory bus. The standard speed will be around 2,500 Mhz. Consumes 150 W.
The Intel Arc B570 uses the classic 8-pin PCie power connector, in a two-slot configuration. It will be sold in versions with two and three fansand HDMI 2.1 and 3 x DisplayPort 2.1 outputs.
With a bandwidth of 380 GB/s, the memory speed reaches 19 Gbps. In operations with 8-bit integers it reaches 203 TOPs.
His older sister, Intel Arc B80it is a little more powerful. It has 20 Xe2 cores, with 20 units of ray tracingand 160 AI engines. It reaches 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM on a 192-bit memory bus. The standard speed will be around 2,670 Mhz. Consumes 190 W.
It will also be available in versions with two and three fans, and HDMI 2.1 and 3 x DisplayPort 2.1 outputs. The bandwidth is 456 GB/s, and the memory speed reaches 19 Gbps. In performance, in operations with 8-bit integers it reaches 233 TOPs.
As we see in the previous table, always according to Intel, the B580 is 10% faster than the RTX 4060in most games. It is especially noticeable in titles that take advantage of more than 8 GB of VRAM, since the RTX 4060 has 8 GB, and the B580, 12 GB.
According to these data, in theory the B570 should perform like an RTX 4060, or a little less. Intel also claims that they are 24% faster than the previous Arc generation.
They barely match the input power of a generation that will be renewed at the beginning of 2025, with the new RTX 5000 range. So Intel’s trump card to sell is the price.
The new Intel Arc B570 will go on sale on January 16, and will cost $219. The B580 will arrive earlier, on December 13, by $249. We don’t have a price in Spain, but if we add VAT, it should be around 310 or 320 euros.
That’s between 50 and 75 euros cheaper than the RTX 4060, but I’m convinced that Nvidia will match prices within days.
Intel’s second generation will use XeSS 2 AI scaling technology, which competes with Nvidia’s DLSS 3. With XeLL, latency is reduced.
Through Intel AI Playgroundusers can experiment with generative artificial intelligence to edit photos, or generate images from text, all accelerated by the card’s AI chip.
The second generation of Intel Arc Battlemage cards is here. Some say it will also be the last, because Intel has to cut costs, and everything indicates that it will sell its graphics chip division.
